In The Presence Activation

Spirit School

This activation is designed to help you see how easy it is to practise the presence of God. Some may find it useful to read through the activation familiarise themselves with the steps before trying it.

If being still before God is something that is new for you, or you find yourself distracted easily, it may be best to find yourself a quiet spot, far from distractions.

Practising God's presence can be as easy as choosing to meditate, or focus your mind and heart, on some of teh characteristics of God. The one in this activation is love, as you open your heart to love (God is love), allow the Holy Spirit to carry your emotions and let them overflow with joy to the Lord. With each run through, you may feel different things or what you experience may intensify or change. Feel free to repeat this as much as you like - as we become used to practising the presence of God, we can then easily sense his presence throughout our day.

As you close your eyes, take a deep breath and focus on Jesus within your heart. When you are ready, read through this short meditation and work through each line in your own time. You can repeat this as often as you need.

Repeat the following breathing exercise several times until you feel a difference in your state of being, often a calm or peaceful feeling will come.

With your eyes closed and focussed in your heart on Jesus, take a deep breath. Hold for a second and then steadily exhale. Try this a few times to regulate your breathing and bring your whole into a state of calm. This can also help focus your mind on Jesus.

When ready say the following lines, with a deep breath in between each one:

God, you are one. Father, Son, Holy Spirit, you are in me.

Father, Son, Holy Spirit, I am in you.

God, you are love.

Love, you are in my heart.

Father, you are in my heart.

Jesus, you are in my heart.

Holy Spirit, you are in my heart.

Blow through me and fill me, my God.

I love you Jesus.

Repeat this as many times as you like.

Take note of any changes you noticed during your meditation, as this will be an indication to how you respond to the presence of God.
