Exploring The Fathers House

Spirit School

In 2 Samuel 7:11 - 13 we get a glimpse into a heavenly reality, where God is concerned about his “house”. He is concerned about building his house here on Earth: us, his people where his spirit abides. His house is where his spirit dwells and the Earthly reality reflects a heavenly reality. In Revelation 21:23 we are given a glimpse into what the heavenly realm is like. The city in heaven is full of the Lord’s glory, throughout and within. His light and glory are everywhere in the heavenly city.

Jesus told us our Father’s house in heaven has many rooms, or mansions (John 14:2). Jesus often spoke in parables, and we can hold this image in tension with reality because the Father’s house is not a physical place but a spiritual reality. It is more akin to a Kingdom, realm or bounding area in the heavenly realms in which his righteous spirits live.

The Father’s house is defined by his light and Kingdom; wherever his glory and light dwells. It is where the angels live, where the righteous who have passed from this Earth dwell, where the righteous spirits are and where we shall go.

Within this heavenly realm are many rooms, areas, regions and places, but that which Jesus spoke of in particular is a promise that he will make a special place for us, preparing it before our arrival.

Many of these rooms are accessible to us now, through spiritual experience and by faith. As such, many people have experienced visitations to a plethora of rooms in the heavenly realms.

Although we can start exploring our own mansions that are prepared for us ahead of time, and take a look at how to build our “mansions” while we live here on Earth (which we will do in a later session), a good place to start is exploring the Father’s own personal rooms. In his rooms we can have deep encounters with our Father, drawing ever deeper into his presence and strengthening our spirits as we bask in his light and love.

The overarching house, or dwelling place, which contains our mansions and the many “rooms” is the Father’s house. His house can be seen as an overarching rule or Kingdom reign and his angels, spirits and righteous people live under his light within his realm.

Indeed, some “houses”, or dwelling places, exist on heavenly costs by crystal beaches and amber oceans that scale into the distance. Others exist in forests, thick with foliage, among trees abundant with fruit and fresh crystal waters that drip off their leaves. Other houses exist in the heavenly realm skies, afloat on little islands that are suspended in the air, and others are suspended by waterfalls that flow from the foundations of the house as they float through the air.

The realm of heaven is one that is so full of wonder.

We do not need to have the gift of “seeing” the spirit realm for us to experience these rooms in heaven. Rather, the seer may experience these rooms and recount what happens within them, but they are accessed by faith, through prayer whenever we need access to certain aspects of God. For instance, we can boldly approach the throne of grace in a time of need, which is by faith through prayer. Whether we see our spiritual reality or not, our spirits are drawn into God’s presence by faith and are before his throne of grace every time we are in need.

Through the various personal examples I intend to share over the next sessions, I intend to show examples of how by faith, these rooms operate with our spirit regardless of whether or not we see and experience our interaction in the heavenly realms.

Personal Story

My first encounter where I was exposed to the reality of the Father’s rooms was during a time when I entered the heavenly realm through a pool of water. I was in the spirit at the time, meditation of God’s love and suddenly I found myself faced with a pool of water. I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit calling me in, so I dipped into the pool, which turned out to be as deep as the ocean. As I was under the water, I felt the presence of Jesus and in my heart I felt him nudge me to look up. As I did, I noticed a bright light and his hand reached into the water.

I grabbed his hand and he pulled me out, onto a beach made from the finest sand that looked like crystals. The sky was crystal clear and in the distance I could see multiple suns in the sky, each of different colours. The ocean stretched as far as I could see and on the shore was a boat.

I asked Jesus about the boat and he told me someone else had come here and gone up to the top of the cliff above the beach. Behind the boat was a lot of trees that looked like palm trees and Jesus invited me to sit on the beach with him, next to a tree that was growing along the sand.

I sat down and I looked at the top of the cliff, on the edge was a building that was white and tall. It looked as if it was made from marble and stood out against the backdrop. Jesus told me it was a house where people could go to experience the Father.

Spiritually, the Fathers House looked like a mixture of a light house and a great mansion, white in appearance and a beacon to all. It was a safe place where people could find refuge, comfort and explore all the nature and character of God away from all distractions. It was also a beautiful place that was attractive and held a magnetic draw on my spirit that made me want to approach the building and go inside.

In the next sessions we shall explore the various realms and rooms within Father's house and how they relate to our everyday life.
