Recognising The Spirit Realm
Spirit School
Our perception of the spirit realm can come in various forms. We may receive a vision, our imagination may flow or we may have sensations in our body that relates directly to what our spirit is sensing. We may even smell fragrances that are not present in our physical space. The realm of heaven is just as real as the Earthly realm and we interpret it from our spirit, through our soul and can feel it in our body.
Some people may not see anything at all but rather, may feel a peace wash over them. Others may feel something like an energy filling their entire being while other people may have a blank mind. Others may recall certain scriptures, songs or places they have been in their lives.
The Holy Spirit speaks to us through unique ways and each experience is unique and valid. We each have our own secret place with Jesus. It is a personal thing for us to enjoy God and be present with him and at rest.
I have personally found it so beneficial at spend extended amounts of time simply focussed on being present with God, with no other intention other than to rest with him. Being in the presence of God hones my spirit senses as I tune into his presence.

Many people sense the spirit realm but for lack of teaching brush it off as imagination or otherwise, simply through lack of understanding on how the spirit realm works, and how we perceive it.

The mechanics of how sensing the spirit realm works, is covered in later sessions in these materials, but below are a few ways in which we sense the spirit realm that you may have brushed off. They are outlined below to give you an indication on how you may start exploring the mysteries of God within the following activation.
Imagination
The Holy Spirit created our imagination and speaks to us through our imagination. Sometimes we may see something in our imagination, and as a child we may have been told to brush it off as if we were "making it up". The imagination, however, was designed for creativity, for seeing what is not yet seen, for seeing the that which can not yet be seen - or simply put - the invisible.

This is very similar to how faith works, by faith we believe for what we do not yet see. The imagination is not faith, but it works in a very similar fashion. We can imagine things which we can not see, here is an example: imagine yourself standing on a beach. Are you by a beach? Or imagine yourself standing near a lake, or in a forest with birds singing all around you and the smell of fresh foliage filling your lungs.
By the words on this page, imagery, sights and sounds were invoked into your imagination. It is the same with Holy Spirit: our imagination can receive prompts from the Holy Spirit, and be carried by the mind of God to induce imaginations in us of things that are not present in the physical realm. Some might see these impressions as visions, or their minds might be carried to a memory of something, a colour, a sight or a smell.

When Holy Spirit is communicating to us about the spirit realm through our imagination, understanding usually comes through interpreting what we are imagining. This can come through practice, or through "schooling under a christian dreams and visions school", which will give you a foundation in understanding the language of spirit.

Inner Sense or Knowing

The Holy Spirit also speaks to us through giving us an inside knowing or sense on something, similar to a gut feel. When Holy Spirit reveals something to us, our spirits may also pick up on it, and inside we just know something. Some people have sensed an angel present, just because they "know" one is present. Their spirit is conveying to their soul what it has picked up on "spirit radar".
The journey of sensing the spirit realm often begins in the heart, or the soul. The Hebrew word for soul, Nephesh, which means the entire being, so if you can imagine the core of your being (usually somewhere within your torso, not the mind) then you can start exploring listening to your spirit. This will be covered later in these sessions as well.

Our "inner core" will sense something, pick up on the presence of a spirit or detect something happening in the spirit realm. As we mature in our spirit senses, we can learn how we sense the spirit realm and begin to heighten our spirit abilities to understand and perceive the invisible realms. It is through this maturity that we can then begin to interact with spirit, with intent and knowledge, when carried by Holy Spirit.
